Discover Local Eat Drink Celebrate

Walking into Local Eat Drink Celebrate feels less like stepping into a business and more like joining a neighborhood hangout where everyone knows the menu by heart and still gets excited about it. Sitting right at 10880 Ocean Hwy Unit 21, Pawleys Island, SC 29585, United States, this diner-style restaurant has become one of those places locals recommend without hesitation and visitors stumble upon and then talk about for the rest of their trip.

The first thing that stands out is how intentional everything feels, from the way the servers explain the menu to how dishes arrive at the table hot, fresh, and clearly made to order. I’ve eaten here on slow weekday afternoons and busy weekend nights, and the experience stays consistent. That kind of reliability doesn’t happen by accident. It usually means strong kitchen systems, experienced line cooks, and clear standards, all things the National Restaurant Association often points to as markers of well-run independent restaurants.

The menu leans into comfort food with a coastal twist. Think hearty brunch plates, burgers that actually require two hands, and seasonal specials that rotate based on what’s fresh and available. One visit, I watched a server explain how a daily special came together, from sourcing local produce to prepping sauces in-house each morning. That transparency builds trust, especially at a time when diners care more than ever about where their food comes from. According to USDA data, restaurants that highlight fresh and locally sourced ingredients consistently score higher in customer satisfaction, and that shows up clearly in reviews for this spot.

Drinks matter here just as much as food. The bar program keeps things approachable, whether you’re ordering a local craft beer, a classic cocktail, or something light and refreshing after a day at the beach. On one visit, the bartender explained how they batch certain mixers daily to keep flavors balanced and consistent, a small detail that makes a big difference in taste. It’s also a smart move operationally, helping speed up service during peak hours without sacrificing quality.

What really anchors the experience is the staff. Many have been there long enough to remember repeat customers, and that familiarity adds warmth without feeling forced. Hospitality experts often note that staff retention is one of the strongest indicators of a restaurant’s long-term success, and it’s clear this place invests in its people. Servers confidently answer questions about allergens, substitutions, and portion sizes, which is especially reassuring for families and diners with dietary needs. The CDC has emphasized the importance of clear food communication in public dining, and this restaurant seems to take that seriously.

Reviews online consistently highlight the same themes: friendly service, generous portions, and a laid-back atmosphere that makes you want to linger. One reviewer mentioned celebrating a birthday here and being surprised with a simple but thoughtful dessert plate, proof that the word celebrate in the name isn’t just branding. Another shared how it became their go-to spot after trying several locations in the area, saying it felt the most welcoming by far.

There are a few limitations worth mentioning. During peak tourist season, wait times can stretch longer than expected, especially for brunch. Parking can also feel tight when the place is packed. Still, those are common trade-offs for popular restaurants in busy coastal towns, and the staff usually manages expectations clearly and honestly.

Overall, the experience blends solid food, dependable service, and a genuine sense of community. It’s the kind of restaurant that works just as well for a casual lunch as it does for a low-key celebration, and that flexibility is what keeps people coming back again and again.

  • We had the most delicious meal here. Logan was our server and she gave great recommendations and was so kind. The chef/ owner came out and spoke to us and he was super knowledgeable about his product and told us all about the freshness and local sourcing of his seafood. The drinks are great and the seafood is incredibly fresh and cooked to perfection.

  • While I totally understand their policy of not sitting large parties until all are there, it was a bit much when they wouldn't seat the rest of us at the table, that was all set up for us, when you could literally see my son and his 2 children through the front door at the playground. Apart from that there are many good things to say. Emily our server was wonderful. We very much enjoyed trying a few beers during happy hour. I really enjoyed the Java the Nut brown Ale from New South. They also seem very focused on truly offering truly gluten free items, even being careful about cross contamination by using separate fryers and such. The house made chips with Old Bay were great and we always love the Dank Nugs. Once we got to the table we had a great experience. Hope they think through that policy a bit more and work on the front of house smiles more as well.

  • Hot Damn! Go see Brandon at the bar and eat banging tacos and an all from scratch menu with delicious cocktails in a totally relaxed environment! Amanda is also delightful! I strongly recommend the Jalapeños blueberry mimosa and the The Winchester cocktail. Brandon's technique is only surpassed be his lovely personality. The music level is not too loud and the Playlist is spot on. Go for it. You won't regret it!

  • Hands DOWN the most welcoming spot I've been too in a loooong time!! Not to mention the food is amazing and very well prepared. My daughter and I were shown hospitality from the moment we walked in, at our table, at the bar- since we went again the very next day! Lauren, and Beth(at the bar) thank you ladies for providing awesome service. *Update* Returned twice the week of 8/19 and on 8/24 had the pleasure of live jazz. Awesome servers (Emily & Amanda). Both owners assist w/serving as well as making sure your happy. Warmly greeted by front desk staff and I believe one of the owner's wife not only welcomed us but made sure to thank me for coming when I was already out the door. Food again was Amazing! The appetizer crab cake was, just..all I can say is it'll soothe you to sleep!! Sorry but I started eating it before taking a photo of it's beautiful presentation! Will be back in October

  • Great spot for brunch. They sat us right in front of the guy playing the guitar, and we had to be moved. We couldn’t hear ourselves think. He had an amplifier, there really wasn’t any need for that. Anyway to the good etc. Great cocktails, highly recommend the paper margarita, fantastic kick to it. We had the nuggets, half chicken and half liver. I would pass on the liver and stick with the chicken. The burger was delicious, and their salad special was mega. The dressing was really good. Service was great, Kevin was really nice and attentive. Mind you the cocktails took a little time to come out so I recommend you reorder as soon as you get your first drinks. Yeah, a great spot that we will frequent again.

  • What a wonderful restaurant. The atmosphere was so welcoming as were the staff. We are on a vegetarian diet so ordered a number of side dishes and appetizers. We tried the appetizer tofu tacos and fries and they were really good. We tried the side dishes of mac and cheese, the rice dish and the asparagus and they were very flavorful. We got there for happy hour and appetizer specials so that was an added bonus. Be warned, these are very generous portions and we had to take some home with us. We will definitely go back.
